Some More Potential Characters To Consider For Your Action Screenplay

A few weeks back, I offered up a list of names you may want to consider using for characters in your action screenplay. Because I am very helpful and want to see you succeed, I am back with another edition — this time with more detailed character descriptions. You are all very welcome.

PROTAGONISTS/HEROES

  • Steve America — President/5-time World Series MVP.
  • Rex Freedom — Former Navy SEAL who lost his best friend in a freak helicopter accident and now lives in isolation in a cabin in the woods.
  • Officer Mike “Glock” Ambrose — No-nonsense cop who plays by his own rules, constantly chews on a toothpick, and wears sunglasses even when he is indoors.
  • Bear “Midnight” Davis — Heavyweight champion of the world/CIA Agent.
  • Jack Trenchcoat, P.I. — Private investigator who used to be a cop until his gambling got the best of him. Always reluctant to take cases even though it’s clearly his job. Says things like, “I got two weaknesses: good scotch and bad dames.”

ANTAGONISTS/SUPERVILLAINS/HENCHMEN

  • Alexa von Trapsington — Sexy leather-clad villain with an Eastern European accent who frequently kills her sex partners.
  • Duck Nightwalker — Local club owner who secretly runs the citywide dope game.
  • Fingers Alexander — Nerdy but devious computer hacker. Very susceptible to duplicitous advances by the protagonist’s love interest.
  • Mako — Asian supervillain who is trying to cause the world’s financial markets to collapse for no reason other than a love of anarchy. Has an aquarium full of sharks that he feeds his enemies and incompetent henchmen to when they get in his way.
  • Vice President Harry Grayheart — Evil politician who has secretly created a squadron of superwarriors. He plans to release nerve gas during the State of the Union Address to kill the President and all of Congress, and then use the superwarriors to rule the country with an iron fist.

LOVE INTERESTS

  • Professor Brooke Bustworthy — Tenured professor at Southeastern State University and expert in ancient languages. Proficient with a crossbow.
  • Gina Kitchen — Devoted wife. Only one who understands the protagonist. Dies violently in Act I or II.
  • Dr. Emma Jackson — Emergency room doctor who saves the protagonist’s life. Fights crime in her downtime as her sexy alter-ego “The Leather Avenger.”
  • Sarah Dawkins — Congressional aide who unwittingly uncovers a plot to kill the President. Gets captured at least twice. Frequently has parts of her clothing torn off in a PG-13 manner.
  • District Attorney Madison McCoy — Tough prosecutor who takes none of the protagonist’s guff. Only falls for him after a dramatic scene where she slaps him twice and he forcibly kisses her. Expert in 3-4 forms of martial arts.

MISCELLANEOUS CHARACTERS

  • Alabaster Slim — Local streetwise hustler. Knows everyone and everything. Trades information for freedom to run his shady business operations.
  • “Purple Mountains” Majesty — Busty exotic dancer who does patriotic-themed dance routines and whose ditsy antics provide comic relief.
  • Detective Ed Ramsay — Straight-laced partner who is in his last week before retirement. Always talking about the coffee shop he wants to open. His whole family is killed in a car bomb explosion that was meant for him.
  • Chief Alonzo Stubbs — Chief of Police who is always concerned that the Mayor is gonna have his ass for the protagonist’s actions. Calls the actions “stunts” or “shenanigans.” Frequently drinks Maalox straight from the bottle.
  • Dynamite Sanders — Black sidekick who says “Daaamn!” or “You trippin’, son!” a lot, and makes fun of everyone’s sense of style. Makes lots of references to the way they do things in his “hood.”
